Poetry I like
- The Novice of Wholes - This silly piece of doggerel had me giggling but surprised me with its deeper message. A fun read!
- In Taberna Quando Sumus - A well-known part of the Carmina Burana which was playfully set to music by Carl Orff.
- The Five Seasons - A poetic exploration of quintography.
- Woman Divided, Man United - A classic by Edith Södergran.
- Ed The Dead - Although this seems like a goofy children's poem at first, this has an important moral at the end.
- Upon his departure hence - A beautiful test of amphimacric monometer by Robert Herrick. It's a melancholic one.
- An Apeirometrical Poem - This poem is a proof of concept by mathematician and poet Edward Lansberry of the mysterious apeirometer, a type of line made out of an infinite number of metrical feet. I found it difficult to read, but interesting.
