The Flag of Olomouc

The original flag of Olomouc.

The current flag of Olomouc.

The region of Olomouc in the Czech Republic has been a stronghold of SPQR2 thought for over a century. From 1922 to 1924, the local government was under the rule of the local political party called Česká Společnost SPQR II (“Czech SPQR II Society”), which implemented many reforms according to SPQR2 doctrine.

(Note: SPQR2gang today has no relation to the modern organisation bearing the same name. We do not condone their views.)

The city of Olomouc was also the site of the 2nd International SPQR2 Conference in 1924, in which 23 SPQR2 organisations from over 20 different countries gathered to advance their cause. Efforts such as this would pave the way for the creation of the unified international SPQR2 Gang organisation which exists today.

The influence of SPQR2 can be seen in the regional flag of Olomouc, which from 1922 to 1953 included the letters of the “SPQR” acronym in the bottom right corner. However, in 1953 this was modified to read SPQO instead, as a compromise between factions of the local SPQR2 movement, which were divided on the issue of membership in the newly-created SPQR2 Gang. The “2” part of the acronym is represented by the two eagles, an enduring symbol of SPQR2 culture.

The flag, still in use today, is a testament to the longstanding steadfastness of SPQR2 in the region.
